"Voskhod" is the name of the series of the Soviet multiseat spacecraft and the program of the low earth orbit flights created under the direction of Sergei Korolyov as a successor to Vostok- the world’s first one seat manned spacecraft. The decision to start the program was made in 1963 with proposal of four three-seat launches starting in August 1964.
