METAL TAG REMOVED FROM RD-0120 ENGINE ENERGIA BURAN ROCKET BEFORE THE LAUNCH
Metal tag removed from RD-0120 engine of Energia Buran rocket before the launch.
During the pre-launch preparation of Energia Buran rocket this tag was attached to the one of the element of the RD-0120 rocket engine, and it was removed before the launch.
The metal round tag is size 2” in diameter.
Extremely rare survival artifact.
Placed in 3D display, size 4.1/4” x 4.1/4”.
The Soviet RD-0120 (also designated 11D122).
The RD-0120 engine became the most powerful Soviet rocket engine with a single combustion chamber ever flown and it represented the technological pinnacle of rocket propulsion in the USSR.
After more than a decade in development, a cluster of four RD-0120 engines performed flawlessly during two launches of the Energia rocket Energia in May 1987 and November 1988.
